Dr. Sandy Leahy

Audiologist

Meet Dr. Sandy Leahy

Dr. Leahy was born and raised in Farmington, Michigan. She graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor degree, majoring in Communication Disorders with a minor in Psychology, in 1989. She was then accepted into Central Michigan University’s Masters Program in Audiology and graduated in 1990.

From 1990 until 1992 Sandy was employed as an Audiologist at ENT Specialists, PC in Farmington Hills, MI. In 1992 she moved to Traverse City, married, and began practicing Audiology at Munson Medical Center. In 2007 Sandy completed her Doctorate degree from AT Still University Arizona School of Health Science.

During her sixteen years at Munson, she managed the newborn hearing screening program. She was on the committee that developed universal newborn hearing screening protocols for the Michigan Department of Community Health. She was instrumental in bringing sedated Auditory Brainstem Response testing to Munson.

In 2008 Dr. Leahy went into private practice at Hearing Solutions of Northwest Michigan with Dr. Kathleen Sawhill.  During her past years as an Audiologist she has served the diagnostic and rehabilitative Audiologic needs for people of all ages.

She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and Michigan Audiology Coalition.
