Diagnostic Audiologic Evaluation

Are you ready to start your journey towards better hearing? Scheduling a hearing evaluation with one of our Doctors of Audiology is the first step. We participate with most insurance plans and offer less wait for appointments. Appointments can be made by calling our office at (231) 518-4422 or by booking online here.

Upon arriving for your scheduled appointment, you will be asked to complete intake paperwork that includes questions regarding your hearing and overall health. Questions such as “How long have you been experiencing hearing loss?”, “Do you have tinnitus (ringing in the ears)?” and “Do you have a history of noise exposure?” will be asked. Please bring a list of your current medications with you to your appointment.

At the time of your appointment, the Audiologist will review your hearing and overall health case history with you and will address the goals that you have for your visit. Upon completing your hearing evaluation, the Audiologist will discuss your test results with you and will answer any questions that you may have regarding your results. If your test results suggest a medical disorder of the ear, the Audiologist may refer you to an Ear, Nose and Throat physician for further consultation. Having a family member of friend attend the appointment with you can be beneficial and is encouraged.

If hearing loss is present, the Audiologist can help to explain how your hearing loss will likely impact your communication and ability to hear in various listening situations. Are you experiencing difficulty hearing in groups? Is the television too loud for others? Do you often feel that people are mumbling? All of your listening needs will be addressed and strategies to help you communicate more effectively will be offered.
