Meet Hillary Toennies

Dr. Toennies was born and raised in Bay Village, a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences and a minor in Disability Studies from The Ohio State University in 2012. She earned her Doctorate degree in Audiology from The University of Akron’s Northeast Ohio Audiology Consortium in 2016.

Dr. Toennies worked after graduation for one year at an ENT practice in Minneapolis, MN. She and her husband relocated to Traverse City in 2017, where she worked in private practice from 2017 until starting at Hearing Solutions of Northwest Michigan in 2025.

Dr. Toennies specializes in adult diagnostics and rehabilitative audiology. She is passionate about working with and helping improve her patient’s quality of life through better hearing. Dr. Toennies is a member of the Michigan Audiology Coalition and The American Academy of Audiology. In her spare time, Dr. Toennies enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, running, and exploring Northern Michigan.
